The Biocontrol 4.0 portfolio was represented in Quimper as part of the Bio2actives2026 symposium, an event dedicated to the theme “Biomass and biorefinery for innovative ingredients and active compounds”.

On this occasion, Philippe Jacques, Biocontrol 4.0 portfolio coordinator, gave a presentation to around one hundred representatives from companies, research laboratories and stakeholders involved in the bioeconomy and biotechnology sectors in Brittany.

His presentation highlighted the role of biomass, bioprocesses and biorefinery approaches in the development of innovative molecules and ingredients, with particularly relevant perspectives for biosolutions, sustainable agriculture and the valorisation of biological resources.

Following this conference, several public and private institutions based in Brittany expressed their interest in meeting members of the Biocontrol 4.0 portfolio to discuss potential scientific, technological and innovation collaborations.

A valuable opportunity to bring research, innovation and economic stakeholders closer together around bioeconomy, biotechnology and biocontrol.
