📌 On Thursday, April 3, François Verheggen was invited by the Association of Liège Biotechnologists (BioLiège) to present his innovative research on alternatives to insecticides 🪳🌱 .

After highlighting the adverse effects associated with intensive insecticide use, he detailed the alternative solutions evaluated by a committee of experts mandated by ANSES (France), of which he was president. The specific case of alternatives to neonicotinoids in beet cultivation generated keen interest ✨ .

Finally, François concluded his presentation by discussing his team's promising work within the framework of the Trans-Pest program (TransPest Biocontrol Project), notably the development of a biological formulation to effectively control wireworms, harmful insects that consume the roots of agricultural plants 🔬 💡 .
