Trans-Manage
The Trans-Manage project is responsible for managing and communicating the Biocontrol 4.0 project portfolio. This portfolio is made up of 6 constituent projects whose leaders are equally distributed between the three regions (2 for France, 2 for Wallonia and 2 for Flanders).
I
ts aim is to develop, in a context of more sustainable agriculture, i) new biofungicides or control strategies directed against plant diseases caused by fungi (Trans-Lipo and Trans-Pathoflax 2.0) ii) new biocontrol products aimed at reducing the number of insect predators of crops (Trans-Pest) and iii) digital tools (sensors, robots and decision support tools) likely to help in the development and use of biocontrol products (Trans-e-Bio). It also aims to integrate these tools by demonstrating their effectiveness in greenhouse or field experiments (Trans-Control), and in training courses aimed primarily at developers, producers, sellers and users of these products (Trans-Training).
The portfolio is aimed at a wide range of audiences: students and researchers in the field, digital and biocontrol manufacturers, farmers and cooperatives, and the general public. Its main challenge is therefore to develop and strengthen research and innovation capabilities and the adoption of advanced technologies in these two cutting-edge fields. The cross-border territory is characterized by identical crops facing the same predator management issues. The portfolio therefore mobilizes the skills of 46 partners (24 institutions) on both sides of the border (16 on the French side, 16 on the Walloon side, 14 on the Flemish side) to develop an approach integrating digital and biocontrol tools to ensure a reduction in the use of pesticides used against these predators.
To this end, it has set up a number of management tools (management committee bringing together the leaders of the constituent projects and portfolio council involving at least one representative from each partner) and internal communication tools (software platform for storing and exchanging data and information, webinars, biannual symposium) to accelerate innovation. It also offers management tools dedicated to optimizing technology transfer (identification of the industrialists concerned, personalized support and setting up of a valorization council).
Finally, by centralizing external communications for the 6 constituent projects (joint press conferences, a single website, a promotional video, a newsletter, spin-off products, coordination of various project start-up and end-of-project events and presence on social networks, etc.), Trans-Manage ensures maximum visibility for the various constituent projects and the portfolio theme. The target audiences can be found in virtually all the defined sectors, and therefore include farmers, specifiers, technical advisors, SMEs (companies) and business support organizations, sectoral agencies and interest groups, local, regional or even national public authorities, higher education and research organizations and training/education centers and schools, as well as the general public.
